This Privacy Policy describes how Simple GIF Editor (the "App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use it. We have written this policy in plain English so you can clearly understand what the App does with your data. The short version is this: Simple GIF Editor performs all of its work locally on your device.
Simple GIF Editor is a utility application that lets you turn short videos into animated GIFs, assemble still images into GIFs, edit existing GIFs, and convert GIFs into MP4 videos. Every conversion, every frame rearrangement, every resize happens directly on your iPhone or iPad. The files you work with are read from your photo library on demand, processed in memory, and then written back to your photo library only when you explicitly tap "Save". We do not store your media, we do not upload it, and we do not share it with anyone.
Simple GIF Editor does not collect, transmit, log, or store any of the following:
• Account identifiers, email addresses, or login credentials of any kind. The App
does not require you to sign in or register before you can use it.
• The photos, videos, or GIF files that you choose to import. These items remain on
your device and are processed locally; they never leave your device through the App.
When you choose media to work with, the App uses Apple's system-provided photo picker. This picker runs out-of-process and returns to Simple GIF Editor only the specific items you tap to select. The App never receives a general read pass over your entire photo library, and it never sees items you do not choose.
When you tap "Save" on a result, the App writes the newly created GIF or MP4 file back to your photo library as a new item. This is the only moment at which the App touches your library in a write capacity, and iOS will ask for your permission the first time you do this. You can deny this permission at any time through iOS Settings, in which case the save operation will simply not occur and no further action will be taken by the App.
Files that you import and the GIFs or videos that you export live entirely within the standard iOS sandbox used by the App. They are not mirrored to any cloud storage, sync service, or third-party backup destination by Simple GIF Editor.
The conversions described above — Video to GIF, Images to GIF, Edit GIF, and GIF to Video (MP4) — all run on the device's CPU and graphics hardware. Input media is decoded into frames, the frames are processed or re-encoded according to the settings you choose, and the resulting file is handed back to iOS for you to save. None of the intermediate frames, the source media, or the output file are sent over the network at any stage.
Simple GIF Editor is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because the App does not collect personal data from anyone and does not require any account, no special handling of children's data is required. Nevertheless, the App is appropriate for users of all ages for whom it is useful.
Because Simple GIF Editor does not collect data in the first place, there is no server-side retention policy to describe. With respect to local data: any temporary files that the App creates during processing are written inside the App's per-installation sandbox and are removed by iOS automatically when the App is deleted, or earlier if the App needs the space. You remain in full control of the media files that the App saves to your photo library through the standard Photos application on your device.
You control the photos and videos on your device through the operating system and the Photos application. Because Simple GIF Editor does not maintain any account, profile, server-side record, or backup of your activity, there is nothing to retrieve, change, or delete beyond what iOS already exposes. If you choose to uninstall the App, all of its temporary sandboxed data is removed by iOS in the usual way.
Files used during conversion live inside the App's iOS-managed sandbox, which is protected by the same iOS sandbox mechanisms that protect every other App on your device. Because nothing leaves the device, the typical risks associated with data in transit (interception, leakage, server breach) do not apply to information that passes through Simple GIF Editor.
If we ever make a material change to this Privacy Policy — for example, if a future version of the App were to introduce a feature that does involve data collection — we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date and, where required by applicable law, surface the change to you through the App before it takes effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
